Audit Preparation Seminars

AFOA BC will be hosting two different online First Nation Audit Preparation Seminars in February 2022. 

These seminars are open to any BC First Nation or Indigenous organization.  AFOA BC membership not required to attend.  There is no charge for  registration.

These seminars are co-hosted by Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) & Aboriginal Financial Officers Association Of BC (AFOA BC). 

SINEWS Program

A new program being offered through Natural Resources Canada called Sistering Indigenous and Western Science (SINEWS) designed to provide additional support to Indigenous women wishing to hold a career in research and science fields

Projects run from May 2022 to January 2023.

Pre- and Post-Election Training

First Nations Public Service Secretariat is offering training for those interested in running for election in their community and for newly-elected leaders

Pre-Election: 

January 26 & 27, 5:00-8:00 PM

Post-Election: 

February 2, 9, 16, & 23, 1:00-4:30 PM

The training is being offered at no cost to participants, in exchange for your feedback on the content and delivery.

Foundations for Professional Communications

First Nations Public Service Secretariat and the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology is offering this course, at no-cost to participants, designed to introduce employees working for First Nation communities and Indigenous organizations to a wide array of fundamental communication skills.
