Community Safety Planning Project

Project Lead: Iiyowshtuwulh Angelina Rice

Bringing Nations together to strengthen safety and wellness.

Naut’sa mawt Tribal Council is working alongside our Member Nations to lead a Nation-led Community Safety Planning process.

This initiative brings together staff, leadership, Elders, youth, service providers, and partners to co-develop a shared Community Safety Plan grounded in Indigenous values, lived experience, and collective responsibility.

Building on the important work already underway in wellness, cultural safety, and emergency preparedness, this process supports coordinated planning across Nations—identifying shared priorities while honouring the unique strengths, approaches, and teachings of each community.

Together, we are strengthening relationships, building alignment, and creating a clear path forward for safer, healthier communities.

What This Work Involves

  • Bringing Nations together to share knowledge and priorities
  • Building on existing community-led work
  • Identifying key safety and wellness priorities
  • Supporting coordinated, culturally grounded action
