We’re excited to welcome to the NmTC team two new Building Official Interns for our second cohort of the Indigenous Building Official Internship Program!
Introducing Jack Kennedy from Malahat Nation (left) and Michael Orrick from Qualicum First Nation (right), who will be working with our Member Nations, the Municipality of North Cowichan, and the City of Duncan as they gain hands-on experience in building inspection and code compliance.
This internship program helps create meaningful career pathways for Indigenous youth while supporting safe, sustainable, and resilient communities. Through partnerships, mentorship, and practical experience, we are helping build the next generation of Indigenous Building Officials.
