SAA Arthur C. Parker & NSF Scholarships for Archaeological Training for Native Americans and Native Hawaiians
 
Scholarship Applications

- Letter of nomination or recommendation
- Personal statement form the applicant/nominee of no more than one page in length
- Brief description of the archaeological methods training program no more than one page in length
- Itemized budget including tuition and expenses associated with attending training program, such as travel food and housing, books, equipment and supplies, and child care, among others.  Indicate the sources(s) and amount(s) of other funding for which the applicant/nominee has applied.
- Documentation of Native identity by either:
     • Documentation of tribal enrollment
     • Statement of no more than one page in length, single-spaced, outlining the applicant’s or nominee’s native ancestry,
       which must be supported by a brief acknowledgement from a current department chair, faculty advisor, or high school teacher.
       An individual does not have to be enrolled in a Native group, of certified Indian status, or member of a group formally recognized by
       the US or Canadian federal governments to be eligible for these scholarships.
