- Proof of age
- Proof of Aboriginal decent
- Proof of attendance at a post-secondary school IE. Letter of acceptance from the secondary institution that you are attending or will be attending
- Proof of community involvement/interest/dedication in working on Aboriginal women’s issues:  One reference letter of letter of support from a local community organization/school/any relevant organization or person, testifying to the applicants community involvement and/or interest and dedication to working on Aboriginal women’s issues.
- Short essay (1-2 pgs max. typed) stating the following:
     Goals following the completion of your studies
     Brief description of how you intend to contribute to either the socio-economic or cultural well being of Aboriginal women
     Have you been active in a local, Provincial or Territorial Native Women’s Association affiliated with NWAC? 
        If so, how?  What other relevant courses or studies have you participated in?
     Most recent official transcripts (photocopies not accepted).  These will be returned upon request.
     Statement of financial need in a letter, plus monthly or yearly budget breakdown during your study period 
        (listed income and expense items), and list of other funding sources and scholarships to be received. 
- Must be under 31 years of age
- Must demonstrate financial need
- Must have demonstrated a commitment to improving the situation of Aboriginal women in Canada politically, culturally, economically or otherwise
- Former Youth Council members are not eligible to apply
