Essentials for Effective Leadership

In response to requests from members that we offer training to new Chief and Councillors, we are coordinating with the National Centre for First Nations Governance to provide a one-day workshop on the Essentials for Effective Leadership that will explain the keys roles and responsibilities that Councillors have to their communities, the Council and outside organizations.  It will also explore considerations for traditional governance and opportunities to develop approaches to governing according to the needs of your community.

While the information will be essential for new Councillors, all members of Chief and Council for all member nations are welcome to attend. Advance registration is mandatory for planning purposes.

The workshop will be held on January 23, 2012 at the Beach Club Resort in Parksville and will start at 8:30 am. Naut'sa mawt will look after your accommodation on January 22, but no honoraria or travel expenses will be paid.
